# Clarity\.com sells for $3\.5 million in a buyer-disclosed upgrade as Nor\.com and TradingCards\.com deals follow

Weekly edition (archived), 2026-10-12 to 2026-10-18, published by Unique Domains on 2026-10-19.

## Summary

Clarity\.com, Nor\.com and TradingCards\.com lead end-user deals, alongside Q3 liquid-market data, the \.si aftermarket, Dynadot and GoDaddy expired results, and \.au, \.name and UDRP disputes\. [[12]](#source-12) [[13]](#source-13) [[8]](#source-8) [[3]](#source-3) [[19]](#source-19) [[25]](#source-25) [[18]](#source-18) [[21]](#source-21)

## Key takeaways

- The venture platform formerly known as Hiive upgraded to Clarity\.com, with its CEO putting the price on record\. [[12]](#source-12)
- TradingCards\.com changed hands through [GoDaddy](https://unique.domains/registrars/godaddy) at a seven-figure price\. [[8]](#source-8)
- The 41st Liquid Domains Overview reports Escrow\.com sales nearly doubled in Q3\. [[3]](#source-3)
- \.si is drawing end-user sales coverage as Catched adds backorders for the Slovenian ccTLD\. [[19]](#source-19) [[7]](#source-7)
- matrixmedia\.com drew 102 bids on [Dynadot](https://unique.domains/registrars/dynadot) after a week of rising prices\. [[6]](#source-6)
- Registrars are pushing back on proposed changes to Australian domain name rules\. [[18]](#source-18)

## This week in domains

Buyers and brokers put top-end [\.com](https://unique.domains/tld/com) prices on public record this week, while the wholesale layer showed its own heat in escrow volume, [Dynadot](https://unique.domains/registrars/dynadot) bidding wars and a new \.si aftermarket, alongside reminders of how fragile domain control can be\. [[12]](#source-12) [[3]](#source-3) [[6]](#source-6) [[19]](#source-19) [[15]](#source-15)

### End users disclose top-dollar \.com upgrades

Sam Desai, founder and CEO of the venture investment site formerly known as Hiive\.com, said on LinkedIn that the company bought Clarity\.com to upgrade to a top-tier domain\. It is the rare case where the buyer, not a seller or broker, put the number on record, which gives the deal unusual weight as a comparable\. Earlier in the week Elliot Silver reported that TradingCards\.com traded through [GoDaddy](https://unique.domains/registrars/godaddy) at a seven-figure price, tying the purchase to strong recent growth in a collectibles market that runs from sports cards to Pokemon\. [Atom](https://unique.domains/registrars/atom)'s Director of Sales and Partnerships, Zack Gabor, disclosed the Nor\.com sale on LinkedIn; the buyer sits behind Whois privacy and the name resolves to a generic page, so the end use is not yet visible\. Reign\.com followed a similar arc: it moved from GoDaddy to [Cloudflare](https://unique.domains/registrars/cloudflare) under privacy in June while showing a DreamHost parked lander, and was only this week confirmed as a rebrand acquisition\. For holders of short and one-word \.com names, the week adds three reported deals from three channels \(a buyer post, a broker post and GoDaddy's brokerage\), plus a reminder that registrar moves under privacy can precede a public rebrand by months\. [[12]](#source-12) [[8]](#source-8) [[13]](#source-13) [[4]](#source-4)

- Clarity\.com: $3\.5 million
- Nor\.com: $700,000

### Liquid-market data: escrow volume, a decade of reports and repriced LLLL \.coms

Giuseppe Graziano of GGRG published the 41st Liquid Domains Overview with Escrow\.com, Estibot parent Intelium and ShortNames\.com\. It covers 614,928 \.com names classed as liquid, and its headline escrow figure shows Escrow\.com sales nearly doubling in Q3 2026\. An industry publication separately reported that, as the GGRG reports enter their second decade, Graziano used the accumulated data to test whether domains outperformed other asset classes over the past 10 years\. Shane Cultra offered a ground-level view from his own book: after cutting asks on high-quality four-letter \.coms from $25K to $12K and $14K, he sold FRMI\.com at the top of that range and has logged five sales this year, over $50K combined, versus essentially none last year\. He also notes better five-letter names now cost about $2K to acquire, up from $800 a few years ago, a cost shift that narrows the gap between buying five-letter inventory and selling repriced four-letter names\. [[3]](#source-3) [[22]](#source-22) [[7]](#source-7)

### \.si moves from curiosity to aftermarket category

Domain Name Wire framed its end-user sales column this week around the Slovenian ccTLD, and the supply side is moving too: Catched is adding \.si backorders, a note repeated across Shane's lists on October 14, 16 and 17\. Asks and auction levels are now visible on [Sedo](https://unique.domains/registrars/sedo) and in [GoDaddy](https://unique.domains/registrars/godaddy)-adjacent auction picks\. The friction is visible as well\. Elliot Silver tried to buy a \.si through [Spaceship](https://unique.domains/registrars/spaceship)'s marketplace and submitted payment, only for Spaceship to relay a message from the seller about the domain days later; the Spaceship founder has since warned sellers to keep listings current\. For anyone pricing \.si, stale listings mean marketplace asks are not always executable prices, while backorder access through Catched opens a drop-catch route that did not exist on that platform before\. ### Dynadot week: matrixmedia\.com and qda\.com run up

The daily DSAD recaps let single auctions be tracked across the week\. matrixmedia\.com sat at $2,555 in the October 12 and 13 recaps, moved to $2,750 by October 14 and 15, then closed in the October 16 recap on 102 bids\. qda\.com went from a $325 pick in Trav's October 15 list to 43 bids a day later\. vebet\.com was the week's top completed [Dynadot](https://unique.domains/registrars/dynadot) sale on 123 bids\. Lower down, naturalpharma\.com closed at $1,828\.01 and toolduck\.com at $210, while vitalclinic\.com was pulled at $510\. On Catched, mindful\.me held at $575 all week and apex\.movie reached $410\. Namejet picks included Prosis\.com at $284 on 25 bids and TravelTechnology\.com at $550 on 16, and ChillZone\.com carried 29 backorders at $69\. In both run-ups, midweek prices understated where bidding ended\. ### GoDaddy expired auctions and a Finance comp set

Trav's Sunday roundup tracked 41 names that cleared $1k in [GoDaddy](https://unique.domains/registrars/godaddy) expired auctions, a list he flagged as light because of technical issues, so the count understates the week\. Two numeric \.coms and a two-digit \.vip took the top three spots\. His Thursday list built a comp set of \.com names ending in Finance sold in expired auctions since 2023, prompted by OxygenFinance\.com; results run from five figures down to the low thousands depending on the prefix\. The same list showed Commissary\.com at $5,500 on 63 bids at Namejet, with DealPro\.com at $650 and Orca\.net at $550\. [[25]](#source-25) [[20]](#source-20)

- 30\.vip: $53,100
- 6364\.com: $43,500
- 7121\.com: $32,508
- FutureFinance\.com \(since 2023\): $17,100
- BirchFinance\.com \(since 2023\): $4,050
- HiFinance\.com \(since 2023\): $3,750

### Policy and disputes: \.au rules, a lost \.name and UDRP sequencing

Registrars are pushing back on proposed changes to Australia's domain name rules, per Domain Name Wire, putting the channel that sells \.au at odds with the proposed policy direction\. A separate DNW report shows the downstream cost of losing a personal domain: a woman faces changing 211 accounts after her \.name domain was terminated, a concrete measure of how much identity hangs on addresses tied to one name\. A citizen journalist has also gone to court to stop a recurring cycle of domain whac-a-mole\. In the ICA UDRP Digest, Ankur Raheja examined a complainant that offered $1,000 through a broker for a domain registered in 2002, and whose own letter stated a UDRP complaint would follow if the offer was declined\. For holders of older names, that kind of correspondence documents how a complainant approached the domain as a purchase before it chose the UDRP route\. [[11]](#source-11) [[27]](#source-27)

## Questions and answers

### How much did Clarity\.com sell for and who bought it?

Sam Desai, founder and CEO of the venture investment site previously known as Hiive\.com, said in a LinkedIn post that the company paid $3\.5 million for Clarity\.com, as reported by an industry publication on October 16, 2026\. He described the purchase as an upgrade to a top-tier domain\. Because the buyer itself disclosed the price, the deal is a buyer-confirmed data point rather than a broker estimate\. [[12]](#source-12)

### What did the Q3 2026 Liquid Domains Overview \(LXDO\) report?

The 41st LXDO, published by broker Giuseppe Graziano of GGRG with Escrow\.com, Estibot parent Intelium and ShortNames\.com, covers 614,928 \.com domains classed as liquid and reports that Escrow\.com sales rose 92\.18% in Q3 2026\. As the quarterly reports enter their second decade, Graziano also analyzed whether domains outperformed other asset classes over the past 10 years\. [[3]](#source-3) [[22]](#source-22)

### Why are \.si domains showing up in domain auctions and sales news?

Domain Name Wire headlined an end-user sales column around \.si, the Slovenian country-code domain, and drop-catch platform Catched announced it is adding \.si backorders\. Prices are now visible in the market: GX\.si was listed on [Sedo](https://unique.domains/registrars/sedo) at 3,800 GBP, and FN\.si was at 4,800 EUR at auction with its reserve met, according to DSAD auction lists from October 2026\. [[19]](#source-19) [[1]](#source-1) [[25]](#source-25)

### What can go wrong when buying from an outdated Spaceship marketplace listing?

Elliot Silver of DomainInvesting\.com described trying to buy a \.si domain through [Spaceship](https://unique.domains/registrars/spaceship)'s marketplace and submitting payment, only for Spaceship to send a message days later relaying information from the seller about the domain\. The Spaceship founder subsequently warned sellers to keep their marketplace listings current, since buyers may pay against listings that no longer reflect the seller's position\. [[2]](#source-2)

### Does offering to buy a domain before filing a UDRP affect the case?

The ICA UDRP Digest \(vol\. 6\.41\) examined a case where the complainant first offered USD $1,000 through a broker for a domain registered in 2002, and its own letter stated that a UDRP complaint would follow if the offer was declined\. The digest highlights that the complainant documented this Plan B sequence in writing before filing, which puts on record that it approached the domain as a purchase before turning to the UDRP\. [[21]](#source-21)

### Who bought Nor\.com for $700,000?

The buyer is not known\. Nor\.com sold for $700,000 via Atom\.com, according to a LinkedIn post by Zack Gabor, Atom's Director of Sales and Partnerships, reported by DomainInvesting\.com on October 15, 2026\. Whois privacy is enabled on the domain and it resolves to a generic page, so neither the buyer nor the intended use has been made public\. [[13]](#source-13)

### What did matrixmedia\.com sell for on Dynadot?

matrixmedia\.com closed at $6,500 with 102 bids, per the DSAD recap of the October 16, 2026 list\. The auction had been at $2,555 in the October 12 and 13 recaps and $2,750 in the October 14 and 15 recaps, so most of the price was added late\. The same week, vebet\.com was the top completed [Dynadot](https://unique.domains/registrars/dynadot) sale in the recaps at $22,602 with 123 bids\.
